Sheridan College is one of two campuses that make up the Northern Wyoming Community College District. The district serves about 4,000 students annually. Sheridan College focuses on providing career training and professional development, as well as academic degrees that prepare students for continued study at a four-year institution. The college has six additional locations, including a culinary institute, in addition to its main campus in Sheridan, Wyo. A majority of the school’s students are Wyoming residents, and nearly 70% come from the surrounding Sheridan, Johnson, or Campbell counties.
Sheridan College offers dozens of associate transfer degree programs, as well as more than 30 associate degrees and certificates for students interested in applied and technical programs. Areas of study include agriculture, biology, biotechnology, business, computer information systems, criminal justice, education, massage therapy, and nursing. Students have several learning opportunities available to them. They can enroll in courses on campus and online. Self-directed learning courses that allow them to advance at their own pace are also available. Through partnerships with regional colleges and universities, students can easily transfer to an advanced degree while staying at Sheridan College.
Sheridan College has been regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1968.
Applicants to Sheridan College must be at least 16-years-old. If still in high school, they must present proof of their principal’s approval to enroll in college courses.
