Northwest College dates back to 1946, when it began with nearly 100 students and three instructors in a public school district. Since then it’s built a 124-acre residential campus in Powell, Wyo., near Yellowstone National Park. In addition to classrooms and housing, its campus features an equine Center, stock agricultural pavilion, rodeo arena, and observatory. The college specializes in skills training, as well as prepares students for continued education through transfer degrees. Degree offerings include allied health, engineering, equine business management, and farm and ranch management.
Northwest College awards more than 85 associate degrees and skills certificates. Accounting, aeronautics, agriculture business, animal science, equine business management, music technology, and nursing are just some of the diverse offerings at the school. Beyond its campus, Northwest College also provides online learning opportunities through its extended campuses, as well ITV and instructional technology courses. Students can also peruse distance courses offered in Wyoming by viewing the WyCLASS site. Northwest College uses Moodle to deliver its online courses.
