Pierpont Community and Technical College is a two-year community college that provides career training and associate degrees. About 3,000 students attend the school. Its main campus is located in Fairmont, W.Va., which it shares with its partner institution, Fairmont State University. It also offers classes at 15 sites in North Central West Virginia, including in Clarksburg, the Gaston Caperton Center, and its Braxton County Center in Flatwoods. It also provides workforce training through a center in downtown Fairmont, and programs in flight and aviation maintenance through an aerospace education center in Bridgeport.
Pierpont offers more than 50 associate degree programs, one-year certificates, and customized workplace training. Students can take classes through its schools of Academic Studies; Business, Aviation, and Technology; Health Careers; and Human Services. Degrees may be geared toward workforce training and lead to work upon completion, or more academic and lead to continued study at a four-year college or university. A select number of classes are offered online through Blackboard, a common course management system. Most are offered entirely online, though some may require one to three on-campus visits.
Pierpont Community and Technical College has been regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 2003.
