West Virginia

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission administers a public policy agenda for the state’s 11 public four-year academic institutions, including West Virginia University, Concord University, and West Virginia State University. The Division of Research distributes scientific research grants from federal and state agencies among West Virginia’s academic institutions and organizes science and technology outreach activities throughout West Virginia. Other boards and committees within the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission include the Higher Education Student Financial Aid Advisory Board, and the WVU Tech Revitalization Committee. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s master plan for higher education from 2007-2012 aims to contribute to the state’s economic growth and provide accessible, affordable, high-quality, post-secondary education for West Virginia residents.
