Spokane Falls Community College is one of two accredited institutions that comprise the Community Colleges of Spokane. Approximately 65% of the students attend the school for its liberal arts/transfer program. Others take the school’s professional and technical programs or its developmental courses in math and English. Nearly 9,000 students attend the school. The institution reaches even more through its Institute for Extended Learning, which provides educational services to rural communities.
Spokane Falls offers programs that are well-suited to students planning to transfer to a four-year institution, as well as those looking for short-term job training or retraining. It offers pre-major programs in more than 40 areas of study that are designed to fulfill transfer requirements set by four-year institutions. It also offers career and technical programs in areas such as early childhood education, interior design, business management, and graphic design. Students can take courses online through the school’s eLearning division.
Spokane Falls Community College has been regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities since 1967.
Applicants can fill out an application online at the Washington Community and Technical Colleges Web Admissions Center. They will have to pay a $25 admissions application fee by mail. Applicants must provide official transcripts from previously attended colleges if they intend to earn a degree at the school or enroll in a course that has a prerequisite requirement. Official transcripts must be sent at least two weeks prior to the student’s registration appointment. New students are encouraged to attend an orientation, where they can meet with an advisor and register for classes.
