Pellissippi State Community College is one of several junior colleges operated by the state’s Board of Regents. It is located in Knoxville, Tenn., and serves more than 11,000 students, according to College Navigator. The public institution offers certificate programs and associate degrees in a variety of fields and disciplines, as well as college transfer programs. Programs Offered

Students at Pellissippi State Community College have several options when it comes to online learning . Web-based and hybrid courses are available for select classes. Other classes are available on pre-recorded tapes. The school also uses designated off-campus facilities where students can gather to access two-way audio and video interaction with the instructor. Other degrees are available through the Regents Online Degree Program, which combines degree offerings from several participating schools in the state.

Pellissippi State Community College is fully accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees. It has held this accreditation since 1977.

Admissions

Pellissippi State Community College has admissions guidelines for first-time students, transient learners, transfers, readmissions, dual enrollment, non-degree seeking students, certificate applicants, and international students. All applicants must submit an application online and pay the $20 application fee. Degree-seeking students must submit official copies of their high school transcript or GED score. They must also submit proof of their recent immunizations. Students seeking financial aid will need to submit a financial aid application as well as official score reports from either the SAT or the ACT. Once students receive their acceptance, they can schedule an appointment with an advisor and proceed with enrollment.
