Austin Peay State University is a four-year public institution located in the state of Tennessee. The school’s main campus is located in Clarksville with several other campuses located in Fort Campbell, Ky.; Dickson, Tenn.; and Springfield, Tenn. Austin Peay also has an online campus that offers degree programs and courses through distance learning. The school has produced a number of notable alumni over the years in fields such as journalism, academia, politics, and athletics, including fitness expert Bob Harper of TV’s “The Biggest Loser,” Dr. Monte A. Gates, a neuroscience research at the Harvard Medical Center, and Los Angeles Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis.

Programs Offered

Austin Peay State University’s online learning division boasts a user-friendly format that is ideal for first-time students and is designed to give students ultimate flexibility. Associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree are available online through Austin Peay, as well as the Regents Online Degree Programs (RODP). Students can earn bachelor’s degrees in nursing, criminal justice, communication arts, medical technology, and more, while graduate degree programs are offered in health and human performance, military history, management, industrial/organizational psychology, and communications arts.

Austin Peay State University offers unconditional and conditional undergraduate admissions requirements . For unconditional admissions, applicants must have a 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale or a composition ACT score of 20. They also must have 14 required high school credits. For conditional admissions, applicants must have a 2.75 GPA or a composition ACT score of 19. Students missing two of the required 14 high school credits will need a 3.0 GPA or an ACT score 21 to be admitted. And, students with a GPA of 1.99 and lower or an ACT score of 18 are automatically denied. For graduate admissions, students need to submit an application for admission, a $25 application fee, three letters of recommendation, official transcripts from all institutions attended, official GRE, MAT or MAT test scores as required by the program, and any other specific application requirements requested by the individual program.
