Providence College was founded in 1917 as a Roman Catholic liberal arts college. Today the private four-year institution serves more than 4,500 students. In 2012 theU.S. News & World Report placed the school fourth on their list of the top regional universities in the north. Providence College also ranked among the top five best value schools.
Providence College offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees for students interested in a variety of different fields. The School of Continuing Education offers online courses to help students balance a busy schedule. These courses are delivered through the school’s virtual learning platform, Sakai, and can be accessed at any time and from any location with internet access.
Providence College has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1933. The college’s music programs hold specialized accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Music.
Students interested in attending Providence College should complete and submit an online application. They will also need to submit a supplemental form specific to Providence College. There is a $55 application fee for undergraduates. Official high school transcripts and letters of recommendation are required. However, standardized test scores are optional. There are two early deadlines: Nov. 1 t and Dec. 1. The regular decision deadline is Jan. 15 .
