Johnson & Wales University is a private four-year university located in Providence, R.I. Additional campuses are located in North Miami, Fla.; Denver, Colo.; and Charlotte, N.C. The main campus was founded in 1914 as an area business school. Today the university has an enrollment of nearly 11,000 students. In 2012, the U.S. News & World Report ranked Johnson & Wales University among the top 100 regional universities in the north.

Programs Offered

Johnson & Wales University offers associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and certificate programs for students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds and interests. Some available majors include business, culinary arts, technology, criminal justice, hospitality, computer programming, equine studies, psychology, and education. Accreditation

Johnson & Wales University has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1993. Its program in dietetics has earned specialized accreditation from the American Dietetic Association.

Admissions

Students interested in attending Johnson & Wales University can submit their application online. There is no application fee for this method of submission. In addition to completing this form, students should send in their official high school transcripts. SAT or ACT score reports are also recommended for first-time freshman. Students who have completed other college course work prior to enrolling should request these transcripts be sent to the admissions office.
