Programs Offered

Worcester Polytechnic Institute Online offers master’s degree and graduate certificate programs in business, engineering, and system dynamics. Their business master’s degree programs consist of information technology, marketing and technological innovation, operations design and leadership, and the MBA program. They also offer a customizable graduate business certificate program in which students can select the courses they want to take from a list provided by the school. The engineering degree programs consist of electrical, environmental, fire protection, and mechanical engineering, all offered at the master’s degree level. The system dynamics programs are offered at a master’s degree level and at a graduate certificate level. This program, which focuses on the use of computer simulation modeling use for analysis, experimentation, and problem solving, is not offered by many institutions.


Worcester Polytechnic Institute gained accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. The NEASC is a regional accrediting organization that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.


Worcester Polytechnic Institute Online requires all applicants to have a bachelor’s degree, pay the $70 application fee, and submit the appropriate application for the program they are pursuing, as well as any official college transcripts, letters of recommendation, and scores from graduate tests the program requires. Depending on the applicant’s education, the transferability of the college credits they have earned, and the program they are applying for, prerequisite courses may be required. Some programs may have additional requirements. If so, an admissions representative will inform the applicant and guide them through the application process.
