Westwood College Online

Westwood College began in 1953 as a radio and television repair institute. Throughout the years, it has turned into a career-focused college that provides students with the education and training needed to succeed in their chosen occupations. Westwood College has more than 15 campuses in six states, 13,000 students enrolled in degree programs, and 24,000 successful graduates. Broadening its academic reach, Westwood College opened an online campus in 2008 to provide students with a flexible alternative for career education.

Programs Offered

More than 20 associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs are available from Westwood College Online in the areas of technology, business, healthcare, design, and justice. Many of the associate programs have a vocational focus, including those for paralegal, medical insurance coding and billing, medical office management, and computer-aided design/architectural drafting. Bachelor’s degrees focus on some of the most in-demand fields like business, information technology, design, and criminal justice. A Bachelor of Business Administration degree is available in the following majors: management, human resource management, marketing management, and project management. The bachelor’s degree in information technology has major options in computer forensics, network management, and systems security. Also, the bachelor’s degree in graphic design gives students the option to major in visual communications or Web design, and those in criminal justice offer majors in administration, corrections, and investigations. In addition, Westwood College Online offers a Master of Business Administration program with specializations in management, financial management, and marketing management.

Admissions

All undergraduate applicants must have completed a secondary-level education and must participate in an interview with an admissions representative. To ensure college readiness, prospective students must have earned a minimum composite score of 17 on both the English and math portion of the ACT, at least a 460 on the math and critical reading sections of the SAT, or a minimum score on entrance and foundational assessments. A completed application must be submitted along with copies of original high school transcripts or GED certificate, and ACT or SAT scores. Those applying to the Master of Business Administration program must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in which they earned a minimum 2.5 GPA in their chosen major.
