University of the Rockies Online

The University of the Rockies was founded in 1998 to provide graduate education in the social and behavior science fields. The university consists of two schools — the school of professional psychology and the school of organizational leadership. Both schools are dedicated to research and providing students with a strong theoretical framework that will prepare them for their professional careers. The university has a physical campus and an online campus, both of which offer the necessary course work for obtaining certificates, master’s degrees, and doctorate degrees.

Programs Offered

The University of the Rockies online program allows students to access course materials at any time. Classes can therefore be completed on a student’s own time, which allows the student to balance their education with their work and family obligations. These online programs award certificate and degrees in areas like human services, organizational development, criminology, organizational leadership, business psychology, and nonprofit management. Courses are offered in a six-week format, which accelerates degree completion time, and courses are generally taken one at a time. All classes seek to guide students in translating theories, research, and understanding into practice.

The University of the Rockies was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 2003. Since then, it has continued to uphold the standards set in place by the accrediting commission.

Before prospective students can apply to the University of the Rockies online campus, they must register on the institution’s website. The application can be completed online, and candidates will be able to save their progress and see admissions requirements once they are registered. However, prospective students can anticipate that they will need to have at least a bachelor’s degree prior to enrollment. They will be required to send in transcripts to prove their education level. There may be GPA and standardized testing requirements, however, these vary based on field.
