University of Advancing Technology Online

The University of Advancing Technology, also known as UAT, was established in 1983 as a private, family-owned institution. The school is located in Tempe, Ariz., but also serves students across the globe through their online programs. Currently, enrollment is estimated at about 1,200 students. While UAT is not a vocational school, the institutions strives to incorporate career-focused technology into their general education requirements. Students at UAT have the opportunity to participate in student clubs, exchange programs, and subsidized student trips to some of the world’s top technology conferences.

Programs Offered

The University of Advancing Technology offers several bachelor’s degree programs online. These include virtual modeling and design, game art and animation, game design, advancing computer science, game programming, network security, and technology forensics. Online students will typically take one five-week class at a time, for a total of three classes per 15-week semester. However, eligible students may be able to accelerate their degree path. UAT’s virtual classroom is an asynchronous learning environment, which allows students to login and complete coursework whenever and from wherever they need. Due to the nature of this learning environment and UAT’s educational mission, students can expect their courses to be more dependent on assignments and activities rather than lectures.

All of these agencies are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, allowing eligible students the opportunity to apply for federal financial aid.
