Tiffin University, a private, coeducational institution, was founded in 1888 in Tiffin, Ohio. Tiffin’s full-time faculty is composed of 133 instructors, and 80% of the full-time faculty hold doctoral or terminal degrees in their field. Tiffin University’s mission, according to its website, is to “offer quality, professionally focused, learning-centered undergraduate and graduate degree programs and life-long learning opportunities to prepare traditional college-age students and adult students for successful careers and for productive and satisfying lives of excellence, leadership and service.”
Tiffin administers 20 undergraduate programs in three schools, and grants an Associate of Arts, Associate of Business Administration, Associate of Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Criminal Justice, Master of Business Administration, Master of Education, Master of Humanities, and Master of Science in Criminal Justice. Undergraduate concentrations offered include communication, education, English, history, general science, finance, marketing, corrections, forensic psychology, homeland security/terrorism, law enforcement, and psychology. Tiffin University offers all of its degree programs online, as well as degree completion programs in professional studies, business administration, and criminal justice.
The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Tiffin University since January 1985.
Admissions to Tiffin University requires applicants submit a completed application with a $20 application fee, a secondary school transcript with class rank and grade point average, and ACT or SAT scores. Tiffin recommends having completed four units of English, three units of Math, three units of Science, and three units of Social Studies. Graduate applicants to Tiffin University are required to submit an official transcript from a bachelor’s degree with an undergraduate 3.0 grade point average or a 2.5 grade point average with five years of added professional work, a personal statement, and a completed application with a $20 application fee.
