Spring Arbor University Online

Spring Arbor University is Michigan’s largest evangelical university. It offers a number of flexible learning options for students of all ages. Its distance learning branch, SAU Online, provides a supportive, Christian-based e-learning environment where students can study a number of associate, bachelor’s, and graduate degrees. The institution also teaches students at its main campus in Spring Arbor, as well as 18 extension sites in the states of Michigan and Ohio, which are geared towards graduate and professional studies. Regional sites also offer weekend college courses for undergraduate study. A renowned liberal arts institution, the 2012 edition of U.S. News & World Report ranked SAU in the top tier of Midwestern regional universities.

Programs Offered

SAU Online offers a range of programs for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students, all with a faith-based, Christian approached. Areas of study include associate and bachelor’s degrees in business, bachelor’s in organizational management, and master’s in communication, education, spiritual formation and leadership, business administration, management, and nursing. Some degrees can be completely entirely online, while others will require on-site residencies – about one week per year – to complement the online study and gain real-world, hands-on experience.

Accreditation

Spring Arbor University has been regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1960. It also holds specialized accreditation through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council.

Admissions

Admission requirements vary by degree level, program, and type of student, such as high school graduate, adult learner, or transfer student. Generally, first-time undergraduate students must submit an application, official high school transcript or GED score report, and SAT or ACT scores. Graduate applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a 3.0 GPA, and submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions, at least two recommendations, and an application. We recommending checking with the department you’re applying to for your specific requirements.
