Saint Xavier University Online offers three fully online programs. These include a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a nurse educator graduate certificate. The MA program is beneficial not only for traditional elementary and secondary school teachers with teaching certificates, but also for human resources personnel, corporate trainers, and program coordinators who want to improve their instructional skills and create a better learning experience for students or trainees. The MSN program offers two tracks for experienced nurses â€” one for executive leadership and one for clinical leadership, depending on the nurse’s chosen career path. Saint Xavier University has been accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission since 1937. In addition, the university holds specialized accreditation for specific programs from the following accreditors: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology; Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education; National Association of Schools of Music, Commission on Accreditation, Commission on Community/Junior College Accreditation; and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Prospective students applying to the online MA program must submit a completed application, transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, two letters of recommendation, and a copy of the applicant’s teaching certificate, if applicable. Applicants to the MA program must have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0, unless an exception is made by admissions staff. Applicants to MSN programs and the nurse educator certificate program must complete the application, must have graduated from an NLNAC-accredited or ANCC-accredited nursing program with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and a minimum GPA of 3.0, send in transcripts, possess a valid registered nursing license, submit three letters of recommendation, submit a current resume, and may be required to sit for a faculty interview.
