Performance Training Institute Online

Performance Training Institute is dedicated to providing an education that prepares students to begin their careers by offering industry-focused programs that combine knowledge with skill. The institute was founded in 1986, and in 2007, they were recognized as a School of Distinction by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. In 2009, they added to their on-campus programs by offering online education.

Programs Offered

Performance Training Institute offers certificate programs in medical billing and coding, medical assisting, and business applications. The Medical Office and Administrative Specialist with Billing and Coding program prepares students for a career in the administrative side of the health care industry with an emphasis on billing and coding. This is the only program that is offered both online and on-campus. Graduates from this program will be eligible to take national certification exams, including the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist exam and the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Medical Administrative Assistant exam. The Medical Administrative Assistant program teaches students about medical offices, familiarizing them with the computer applications they will be using and making sure they understand the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. The Microsoft Business Applications program familiarizes students with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Quickbooks, while teaching them the foundation of business computing.

Accreditation

Performance Training Institute gained accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) in 2001. The ACCSC is a nationally recognized institutional accrediting organization.
