Penn Foster College Online

Although Penn Foster College was officially founded in 1974, the school can trace its history back to 1890, when Thomas J. Foster developed distance-learning methods to help hard-working coal miners gain the knowledge they wanted and needed to advance and earn promotions. As technology advanced, the college developed new distance-learning methods. To maintain their commitment to provide hard-working individuals with the education they want but otherwise would be unable to attain, they now offer degree programs entirely online. Today, they refer to themselves as “America’s Online Community College.”

Programs Offered.

Penn Foster College offers undergraduate certificate programs in accounting, business management, foundation skills for technology, general studies, graphic design, and human resources. They offer 20 associate degree programs, including medical assistant, marketing, paralegal studies, veterinary technician, and fashion merchandising. They offer bachelor’s degree programs in business management and in criminal justice. For individuals interested in expanding their knowledge in a particular area, but not wanting to enroll in a program, Penn Foster offers several individual courses in the areas of technology, business, and general education.

Accreditation.
