Oregon State University Online started awarding graduate degrees in 1988. Since then, they have remained on the cutting edge of technology and have continually improved their online classroom. Jobs magazine recognized Oregon Online as a military-friendly school and placed them in the top 20% of colleges that embrace active-duty military members and veterans. In 2012, SuperScholar.org ranked Oregon Online ninth in the nation and in 2013 ranked Oregon State University eCampus eighth.
Oregon State University Online offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as certificate programs. They offer 16 bachelor’s degree programs, including economics, political science, anthropology, environmental economics and policy, as well as a special, post-baccalaureate program in computer science. In addition, they offer a number of master’s degree programs in areas such as education, natural resources, and fisheries and wildlife administration, a program not offered by many online institutions. They have graduate certificate programs in fisheries management, geographic information science, management for science professionals, sustainable natural resources, and water conflict management, another rare program for online institutions. They also offer two doctoral programs, one in education and the other in counseling. However, these are hybrid programs, which means they combine online learning with traditional classroom learning, so you will have to attend the campus from time to time to complete one of these programs.
Oregon State University gained accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities in 1924. Many of their individual programs, such as English and teacher education, have gained specialized accreditation from nationally recognized accrediting organizations.
