Oklahoma Wesleyan University Online

Oklahoma Wesleyan University was founded in 1972. This private, Christian university is affiliated with the Wesleyan Church and provides a Christ-centered, liberal arts education to its students. The U.S. News and World Report ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University 10th in their 2012 “Best Colleges” list for the “Regional Colleges (West)” category. Oklahoma Wesleyan University Online maintains Christian values while providing an education in an online environment.

Programs Offered

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Online offers a STEP program that is designed for working individuals with no previous college experience. The program focuses on mathematics, English, business, and the humanities and is divided into four progressive steps that allow students to earn an Associate of Arts in General Studies in less than two years in most cases. They offer an associate degree program in early childhood, and the university’s bachelor’s degree programs consist of ministry and leadership, organizational management and ethics program, psychology, and a RN to BSN program. They also offer Master of Business Administration programs in human resources, finance, marketing, and nursing management.

Accreditation

Oklahoma Wesleyan University was accredited in 1978 by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission. The nursing program was accredited in 1999 by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the teacher education program was accredited in 2003 by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Admissions

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Online has a rolling application deadline and an application fee of $25. Applicants must submit an application and pay the fee. Applicants are required to have a score of at least 860 on the SAT, or 18 on the ACT, either a high school class rank in the top 50%, or two years of work experience, and a high school GPA of at least 2.0. Applicants with previous college experience are required to have a college GPA of at least 2.0. There may be additional requirements depending on the program you are applying for, so we recommend contacting the admissions office for more information.
