Northcentral University Online
Northcentral University was founded in 1996 by Dr. Donald Hecht, founder of the Southern California University for Professional Studies, as means to improve delivery of higher education through personal computers and the Internet. Northcentral is the first completely online university to offer accredited doctoral degrees.
All of Northcentral University’s programs — eight bachelor’s specializations, 31 master’s specializations, and 64 doctoral specializations — are offered via distance education. Bachelor’s degrees are offered in psychology, accounting, applied computer science, criminal justice, homeland security, management, marketing, project management, and education. Master’s and doctoral degrees are offered in behavioral and health sciences, business and technology management, and education.
The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Northcentral University since January 2003.
Northcentral University requires the completion of an online application and an application fee, an official high school transcript, and browser and email access with attachment capabilities. Admissions to Northcentral’s master’s degree program requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution, a current resume, the completion of an online application and an application fee, and browser and email access with attachment capabilities. Admission to Northcentral University’s doctoral program in the School of Education or the School of Business and Technology Management requires a master’s degree from an accredited institution, the completion of an application and an application fee, and browser and email access with attachment capabilities. Admission for all programs is rolling.
