New York Chiropractic College Online

New York Chiropractic College was founded in 1919 to educate healthcare professionals about the practice of chiropractic science. Today, course work focuses on holistic, integrative, and collaborative health care concerning chiropractic, applied clinical nutrition, and acupuncture and oriental medicine. When it comes to the U.S. Chiropractic Board Exams, NYCC students score above the U.S. average on a consistent basis. NYCC also has a graduation rate of 88.3% in the Doctor of Chiropractic program and a rate of 94.1% in the School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Committed to the development and implementation of chiropractic education, NYCC’s Post-Graduate Department began offering courses online in 2002.

Programs Offered

Through NYCC’s Postgraduate Online-Education Program, chiropractors can expand their knowledge of chiropractic science and stay up to date on current topics within chiropractic practice. Online courses are also commonly taken by those who need to meet the continuing education requirements of their state. Online distance learning courses are available on topics like botanical therapies in chiropractic practice, integrative health care, nutritional counseling in chiropractic settings, spinal trauma, ergonomics, and whiplash-associated disorders. Courses are also available in special topics that educate professionals on running a chiropractic business, such as avoiding charges of patient abandonment, Medicare documentation and guidelines, ethical and legal considerations, avoiding malpractice, and documentation, record keeping, and practice guidelines.

NYCC is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. It has specialized accreditations from the Council on Chiropractic Education and the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

To register for courses in NYCC’s Postgraduate Online-Education Program, you must have a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and hold a DC license from the state in which you practice. Before registering for continuing education courses for state relicensure credit or license renewal, you may want to contact your state board to verify appropriate applications relating to credit hours or state board approval for a seminar in the state in which it occurs.
