Established in 1909, the New England College of Business has been educating business and finance professionals for more than a century. In 2002, NECB began to make professional development opportunities more attainable through online degree programs, and it has been making strides in online education ever since. Today, this institution of higher education offers all programs completely through distance education, including business-focused undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs. Truly unique in the business education it provides, NECB was the first school in the nation to offer a Master of Science in Business Ethics and Compliance degree.
As far as undergraduate education is concerned, the NECB offers programs that lead to an Associate of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Both of these programs give students the option of five degree concentrations, including general business, marketing, accounting, management, and banking and finance. Those who wish to pursue a graduate education in business can enroll in NECB’s MBA program, with optional concentrations of finance or business ethics and compliance. Those who want to advance in the financial realm can enroll in the Master of Science in Finance degree program, while professionals looking to specialize in compliance management can do so with the Master of Science in Business Ethics and Compliance degree program. In addition to degree programs, this institution of higher learning also has certification programs for those interested in professional development.
NECB is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. In addition, it has accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Commission on Technical and Career Institutions.
Prospective students applying for an undergraduate program may be required to take an entrance examination in mathematics and English, in which they must score more than 55%. Some students may be exempt from the examination, such as those who transfer with a minimum of 12 credits with a C or higher. All applicants must submit official college transcripts from all institutions they wish to transfer credit. Those who score between 55% and 74% will be required to submit a high school transcript or GED documentation, a writing sample, and participate in an admissions interview. Those who wish to apply for one of NECB’s graduate programs must have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in which they earned at least a 2.70 GPA. Those applying to the MBA program must have at least a 2.75 GPA. In addition, applicants must submit official copies of college transcripts, an essay, current resume, and participate in an admissions interview.
