Malone University Online

Malone University is a liberal arts university located in Canton, Ohio. From its humble beginnings in a rented home, the school has grown to an undergraduate enrollment size of 2,000 students. The small, private institution was founded in 1982 and is affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church. The university offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as online learning options. Malone University has been named an NAIA Champions of Character Five Star Award winner. It ranks 58th among Midwestern regional universities, according to the 2012 edition of U.S. News & World Report‘s Best Colleges.

Programs Offered

All programs at Malone University are offered through four schools: the College of Theology, Arts & Sciences; the School of Business & Leadership; the School of Education & Human Development; and the School of Nursing & Health Sciences. Malone offers approximately 100 undergraduate majors and minors, in addition to six master’s degrees. The most popular undergraduate majors include organizational management, nursing, and early childhood education. Graduate degrees are offered in areas such as theological studies, education, and business. The school also offers certificates and endorsements, such as a piano pedagogy certificate. The Malone Management Program serves those who have previously started working toward their bachelor’s degree and would like to resume studying. It offers degrees in areas such as marketing management and environmental management. Lastly, online courses are also available.

Accreditation

Malone University has been accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1955. It has also received specialized accreditation from other institutions, such as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

Admissions

Malone University considers an applicant’s high school curriculum, GPA, and SAT and/or ACT scores for admission. The average high school GPA of incoming freshmen is 3.30, and the average ACT score is 23.14. Interested students must submit a completed application along with the application fee. Transfer students who wish to transfer credits must have an average GPA of 2.0 or higher in their courses. Admission requirements for graduate programs vary, and students should check with the specific program for details and information. Incoming freshmen should submit their application before Thanksgiving of their senior year. Malone’s acceptance rate is 76.4%.
