Huntington University Online

This Christian college was founded in 1897 and provides a liberal arts, Christ-centered education. Programs are available at the bachelor’s and master’s level through its Huntington, Ind., campus, as well as online. The U.S. News & World Report ranked Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest in 2012.

Programs Offered

Huntington offers graduate, undergraduate, adult degree, and online programs in more than 70 areas. At the undergraduate level, areas of study include arts, bible and religion, biology, business, computer science, education, ministry and missions, music, nursing, and theater. Master’s degrees are offered in counseling, youth ministry leadership, and education. Students can also participate in a wide variety of off-campus and study international learning programs as part of the school’s mission to “impact our world for Christ,” according to its website.

Accreditation

Huntington has been regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1961. It also has specialized accreditation through these accrediting bodies: Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, National Association of Schools of Music, and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.

Admissions

To apply to Huntington, prospective students must fill out an application, which requires the completion of two essay questions that address the applicant’s personal beliefs and anticipated opportunities and challenges at the school, and submit SAT or ACT scores.
