Graceland University Online

Graceland University was founded in 1895 by RLDS Church, now known as the Community of Christ.
Today, it has more than 2,000 students and over 50 academic programs, including 35 undergraduate majors, three master’s degrees, one doctoral degree, and nine pre-professional programs. Realizing that it is becoming harder for people to find the time and resources to further their education, Graceland began offering distance learning programs in 1988. Currently, Graceland University Online offers online undergraduate and graduate degree programs in education, nursing, and religion to around 900 students. Whether on campus or online, this private university provides a high quality education, in fact, it has been recognized by the Princeton Review as a top school in the Midwest.

Programs Offered

Graceland online degree programs include bachelor’s degree programs in nursing and healthcare management, master’s programs in religion, education, and nursing, and a doctorate program in nursing practice. RNs can advance their education online through Graceland’s bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. The RN to BSN program makes it easier for nurses to earn their BSN by accepting up to 28 semester hours of credit for previously taken undergraduate nursing courses as well as by accepting transfer, CLEP, or online courses for general education credit. Likewise, the RN to MSN bridge program helps nurses earn their degree through an accelerated process.

Both the RN to MSN and the Master of Nursing programs offer a degree track in nurse educator and Family Nurse Practitioner, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program, the first doctoral degree to be offered by GU, prepares nurses for advanced practice positions in the healthcare field.

Educators can further their career through the Master of Education program, which allows them to define their expertise and choose from five degree options, including management in the inclusive classroom, collaborative learning and teaching, differentiated instruction, technology integration, and mild/moderate special education. Other Graceland programs lead to degrees like a Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Management and a Master of Arts in Religion.

Accreditation

Graceland is regionally accredited by the North Central Association, Higher Learning Commission. Its teacher education and nursing programs have specialized accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
