Bellevue University is the largest private university in Nebraska and was founded in 1966. The school has received several awards, including the U.S. News and Report ranking of number one in their “2012 Top Online Education Programs Rankings” report. Chief Learning Officer magazine granted two Excellence in Learning awards to Bellevue in 2011: a Silver “Excellence in Academic Partnership” and a Bronze “Excellence in Social Learning.” Bellevue also won the first annual Homeland Security Award from Government Security News magazine for their security management program.
The programs offered at Bellevue University Online are divided into four colleges: the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business, the College of Information Technology, and the College of Professional Studies. All four of these colleges offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, such as Master of Business Administration in Accounting, Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Information Systems, Master of Healthcare Administration, and the award-winning Master of Science in Security Management.
In 1977, Bellevue University gained institutional accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, The Higher Learning Commission, a nationally recognized accrediting organization.
Bellevue University Online has a rolling application deadline and an application fee. The university does not require applicants to take the SAT or the ACT. Undergraduate applicants must submit an application, proof of completion of high school or its equivalent, and the transcripts from any post-secondary institutions they attended, and pay the application fee. Graduate applicants must submit an application, pay the fee, have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution, have a grade point average of at least 2.5 for undergraduate work and at least 3.0 for any graduate work, and some of the colleges also require letters of recommendation.
