Located in Midwest City, Okla., Rose State College is a public two-year institution. The school was established in 1970 as Oscar Rose Junior College before changing its name in 1983. Currently, the school serves more than 8,000 area residents, including a growing number of distance learners. Programs are available at the certificate and associate levels in a wide range of career-training and liberal arts areas. Select accredited online programs are also available to accommodate the needs of working adults and non-traditional students.
Rose State College has a number of options for students with a variety of career aspirations. Available areas of study include business and information technology, engineering and science, health sciences, humanities, and social sciences. The school also offers associate programs through their Alliance Partnership Initiative, allowing high school and adult students enrolled in Rose State’s technology center courses the opportunity to earn college credits. Students looking for more flexibility may also be interested in the school’s online degree offerings. These include programs in business, English, history, liberal arts, social sciences, and library technical assisting.
Rose State College has been accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1975. In addition, their programs in dental hygiene, dental assisting, radiologic technology, and nursing have earned specialized accreditation.
Prospective students can submit their application via the Rose State College website or by mail. The school has an open admissions policy, but students must still submit all required documents in addition to the application form. This includes the submission of official high school and, if applicable, college transcripts. First-time freshman must also submit their official ACT scores or an acceptable equivalent. Once they have received notification of admission, students will be required to pay a non-refundable enrollment fee of $15.
