This private four-year institution is located in Fargo, N.D. Rasmussen College – North Dakota grants primarily associate degrees, but also offers certificate and bachelor’s programs in a number of subject areas. Rasmussen College was originally established in 1900 in Stillwater, Minn. as a business and professional training school. Today, the institution operates a number of campuses in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida, and North Dakota. Programs Offered

Prospective students can choose from a variety of career-focused curricula at the certificate, associate, or bachelor’s level. Majors include, but are not limited to, accounting, business management, health care management, design and animation, web design, criminal justice, nursing, computer science, and information technology management. Working adults, military students, and those trying to balance family responsibilities will also find highly flexible online offerings. These classes allow students to access the virtual classroom at any time and from any location that works for them. Areas of study available online include business management, marketing, design, criminal justice, network administration, web programming, and health information technology, to name a few.

Accreditation

Rasmussen College’s North Dakota campus was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools from 1966 to 2007. In 2007, the school became accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Admissions

Students interested in enrolling at Rasmussen College should contact a program manager for details. In addition, they will need to request their official high school transcripts be sent to the admissions office. If a student has completed any college course work prior to applying, they should also have those transcripts sent to the school. In fall 2011, 81% of applicants were admitted. Please note that Rasmussen requires students to complete a STEP test prior to registering for classes. This is an online assessment of reading, math, and other fundamental skills.
