Ferris State University was one of the first universities to be coeducational from the time of its inception. Currently enrolling more than 14,500 students, Ferris is the ninth-largest university in the state of Michigan. The school has 19 locations throughout the state and provides degree programs online to distance learners. According to U.S. News & World Report, an average of 72% of freshmen enrolled at Ferris return the next year to attend the school, which is a strong indication of student satisfaction.

Programs Offered

Ferris State University recognized the growing demand for online degree programs and created a variety of programs at the bachelor’s and master’s level specifically for the busy working professional whose schedule deters them from pursuing higher education opportunities. These accredited programs are delivered through an online platform that allows students to view course materials, submit completed assignments, interact with classmates and instructors, and take tests from wherever they have access to a computer and the Internet. Though the programs follow structured deadlines and such, the majority of the time spent studying and completing assignments is completed at the discretion of each student. Ferris State University provides distance learners with accredited degree programs in a convenient manner without compromising quality and rigor.

Accreditation

The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Ferris State University to award degrees to graduating students. Specialized accreditation was also awarded by six additional accrediting organizations.
