Northern Kentucky University is a four-year public institution in Highland Heights, Ky. The U.S. News & World Report ranked Northern Kentucky University 67th in the Regional Universities (South) category of its 2013 edition of Best Colleges. Northern Kentucky University has a student population of 15,724 and a student-to-faculty ratio of 18 to 1. Programs Offered

Northern Kentucky University offers majors in accounting, anthropology, biological sciences, business administration, chemistry, communication studies, criminal justice, economics, marketing, and more. Graduate degree programs are available in accounting, business informatics, educational leadership, English, public administration, public history, school counseling, social work, and teaching. The university also offers doctoral degrees in educational leadership, nurse education, and nursing practice. Online bachelor’s degrees in communication studies, criminal justice, integrative studies, organizational leadership, business informatics, health science, library informatics, nursing, and surveying are also available. The schools online graduate degree programs are offered in education, nursing, health informatics, and business informatics.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has accredited Northern Kentucky University since 1973.

Admissions

Northern Kentucky University’s fall admission deadline is July 1. The university also has an assured consideration deadline on Feb. 15, and it requires prospective students to submit a completed admission application by Jan. 15 to be considered for scholarships. Spring deadlines are set at Dec. 1 for final admissions and Nov.1 for priority admissions. Students must submit a completed admission application, ACT or SAT scores, and a $40 application fee. According to the U.S. News, Northern Kentucky University had an acceptance rate of 64.2% in fall 2011.
