Established in 1979, Full Sail University was originally known as Full Sail Recording Workshop and was created to train students on the production side of music and entertainment. Programs originally focused entirely on recording arts, but later, the scope of academics expanded to include many other facets of audio and recording. Today, Full Sail University provides nationally accredited programs to more than 17,000 students. Full Sail has earned high recognition for its academics and excellence, including a mention from Rolling Stone Magazine for having “one of the five best music programs in the country,” receiving the New Media Consortium Center for Excellence Award, and School/College of the Year for 2008 and 2011 from the Florida Association of Postsecondary Schools & Colleges (FAPSC). The university is proud to offer 40 of its renowned degrees to distance learners through an online format.

Programs Offered

Full Sail University recently expanded its available online degree programs and now offers distance learners with their choice of 40 degrees. Available at the undergraduate and graduate levels, these programs are designed to provide students with a degree comparable to its traditional versions, but in a manner that is both flexible and convenient. Areas of study include creative writing, media design, computer animation, game art, graphic design, and much more. Two graduate certificates are also available in the online format: Education Media Design & Technology and Internet Marketing. Because of the excellence of the online programs, the United States Distance Learning Association awarded the university accolades in three categories. The programs are available entirely online and mirror the academic rigor and quality of their traditional counterparts.

Accreditation

Full Sail University received national accreditation from the Commission of Career Schools and Colleges to award degrees.
