Arizona, also known as the Grand Canyon State, is the 14th most populous state in the country. It has more than 100 institutions of higher education, including several major national universities, that offer traditional and online degree programs to thousands of students. The state’s schools are overseen by the Arizona State Board of Education, which sets policies that encourage excellence in public educational institutions. Meanwhile, the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education works to increase access to and success in postsecondary education. This includes increasing the availability of financial aid, helping students and families plan for success in higher education, and working with all sectors of higher education to solve mutual problems and meet goals.
