Georgia tops the Princeton Review Party School rankings for 2011

The Princeton Review has once again released their annual list of the best party schools in America. The rankings are compiled by a voluntary email survey of 122,000 students from over 370 colleges. Most of the schools on this year’s rankings are large state schools (no surprise there), although a couple of smaller schools do manage to sneak onto the list (Ohio U and DePauw). I am not too surprised by the makeup of the Princeton Review’s rankings (OU riots a couple of times a year and has an insane Halloween weekend, so I can only imagine the qualifications of other schools on the list), but I’m sure dozens of other schools could also make a claim as one of the top party schools in America.

A complex field, the real estate field necessitates a comprehensive understanding of finance and development of skills in analytical thinking, communication and collaboration. The teaching occupation offers a substantial range of opportunities for professionals within the field. Professional educators can work in a classroom setting teaching students from grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth. Teachers can choose to pursue an area of specialization in a specific subject, in a focused area such as special education or to develop an expertise in a certain aspect of the field. Teachers can work in child care centers, private education centers or in technical schools. Since teachers are required in every region of the country, individuals entering the profession aren’t geographically limited as to where they can set up residence. In addition to the flexible job opportunities, teaching is a field with limitless opportunities for change, enrichment and advancement. Cities and towns must respond to the changing needs of their populations. New schools, better parks and recreation centers, water infrastructures and improved highway and travel thruways are all integral aspects of a functioning society. With the development and implementation of each of these projects, there are concerns which must be considered in advance. City and state officials are responsible for ensuring the safety of their citizens while the needs of the growing populations are addressed. Environmental matters must also be considered. Years of human interference and negligence on this planet have interrupted the natural processes of the earth. Processes which restore, repair and sustain the resources and systems essential to the continued health of the many inhabitants of the planet are not functioning as they were intended. These interruptions of the natural cycles and resources have caused detrimental consequences. Now the inhabitants of the planet are relying on expertly trained earth scientists to discover solutions to these problems and effective methods to repair the existing damage already causing environmental hazards. Alternative methods of doing business are necessary to prevent further damage to the earth’s systems and resources. The methods of performing the tasks of manufacturing, waste disposal, of controlling chemical emissions, of developing property without damaging the ecology of the area and nearly every other task associated with the various business industries are affected by these necessary changes. And it is the earth scientists on whom businesses, governments and citizens are relying to direct and implement these changes.

The field of landscape architecture is expected to experience significant job growth over the next several years. According the statistics reported by the United States Department of Labor, the employment rate for landscape architects is projected to increase by an astounding twenty percent. Populations around the globe are expanding. Growing populations are creating a need for development while the strain of development on the natural environment and resources is creating a need for trained individuals capable of balancing both facets without causing detriment to one for the other. Landscape architects are included among the professionals responsible for managing the two. The landscape architect works in collaboration with other professionals to create functional designs. However, while other professionals are concerned with the practicality of the project, it is the responsibility of the landscape architect to create a beautiful project design while ensuring the continued sustainability of the natural resources and ecology of the area being developed.
